If You're Being Bullied
Being bullied can be scary and upsetting, but you're not alone. There are things you can do to stay safe and get help. In an emergency, always call 911 (US) or your local emergency number.
Steps to Take:
- **Tell someone you trust.** This could be a parent, teacher, counselor, or another adult. They can help you develop a plan to stop the bullying.
- **Don't fight back.** Fighting back can make the situation worse. Try to walk away and stay calm.
- **Keep a record of the bullying.** Write down what happened, who was involved, where and when it happened. This can be helpful if you need to report the bullying.
- **Report the bullying.** You can report the bullying to a teacher, principal, or another adult at school. You can also report cyberbullying online.
